Truth and Liberty-South Carolina

About Us

We are a church culture impact team in the Upstate of South Carolina, USA, working to share Biblical truths and Biblical worldviews on issues that are impacting the culture in today’s world. We are endeavoring to spread “salt” and “light” in our culture, via the seven mountains or “spheres” of influence: Church, Family, Government, Media, Arts and Entertainment, Business and Education.

Our Mission

The Team’s mission is to educate, disciple, and mobilize the local church into effective civic engagement that promotes a Biblical world view in the seven mountains of cultural influence, with a particular focus on local and state government.

Our Vision

The Team’s vision is to disciple the church so that each individual, family, and church body may positively impact their communities, states, and nation with the Truth (God’s Word).

OVERVIEW

Truth and Liberty-South Carolina exists to first educate the church about our nation’s founding, and the Biblical blueprint behind it. We seek to establish understanding among God’s people of the Declaration of Independence, of the national and state Constitutions, of the Framer’s original intent, and more. We seek to Equip the people of God so that we can both know and assert our rights, carrying out our duty to stand in and preserve the liberty wherewith we have been made free (Gal 5:1). We then mobilize as respectful citizens engaged in what is happening in our local schools, cities, counties and state. Our duty is to faithfully steward the free nation that has been handed down to us (Matthew 25:14-30; Luke 19:11-27).

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its' flavor, how shall it be seasoned?
It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world.
A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:13-16 (NKJV)

“Because we are commanded to be salt and light in a dark world, and when the church abdicates its’ responsibility to influence the government, that church is going to find out real quick that the government is very happy to interfere with the church. Now, you may hear that and say, “Ahhh,…the church is getting more political, WRONG! In the words of my friend, Pastor Josh McPherson, the church isn’t getting more political, politics are getting more theological. When the government moved past things like building roads and issuing drivers’ licenses to things like redefining marriage, erasing gender, reframing abortion as reproductive rights and then, indoctrinating everybody’s kids into believing those things, hey guys, the church didn’t move, politics did!”
